About Catherine McCullough

Founder, President & CEO – CMC Leadership

Catherine McCullough is the Founder, President, and CEO of CMC Leadership. She is a respected leadership facilitator, educator, and executive coach with extensive experience designing and delivering evidence-based leadership development for leaders, teams, boards, and organizations across public, nonprofit, and organizational sectors.
 
Catherine’s work focuses on developing effective leadership in complex environments. She partners with organizations to strengthen leadership capability through facilitated leadership programs, strategic planning and strategic management engagements, governance and board development, and executive coaching. Her approach integrates leadership research, emotional intelligence, assessment tools, experiential learning, and practical application—ensuring learning translates into meaningful leadership behaviour and organizational impact.
 
Catherine brings deep, real-world leadership experience to her work. She has held senior executive roles in public education, including serving as Director of Education for a Canadian school board in Ontario, and has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization. This experience grounds her facilitation and coaching in the realities of leadership accountability, governance, and decision-making.
 
She holds a Master of Education degree from Brock University and post-graduate certificates in Strategic Leadership from the Rotman School of Business and Executive Coaching from Fielding Graduate University. Catherine is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and a Master Trainer in Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i 2.0® and EQ 360®). She also holds advanced certifications in leadership influence, communication styles, change leadership, and business simulations, including Paper Planes Inc.®
 
Catherine is an Instructor with The Directors College at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, where she contributes to the development of current and aspiring board directors, with a focus on emotional intelligence, leadership judgment, and boardroom dynamics.
 
Her work is known for being relational, rigorous, and practical. Catherine creates trusted learning environments where leaders engage in meaningful reflection, strengthen self-awareness, and build the capability to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose—particularly in times of change.
